The SMASH_UK organisation works for equality, diversity and inclusion in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics/Medicine (STEM) and Arts education and careers. We design, develop and deliver engaging, immersive Arts-driven STEM (STEAM) events, programmes and activities with the specific outcome of engaging BAME audiences and young people living with poverty.

We work in three main strands:

SMASHfestUK – our live events ‘front-end’. Producing compelling, groundbreaking STEAM experiences, activities, interactives, shows and events with communities, in communities.

SMASHResearch – developing new methods and approaches to co-design and public engagement with research within complex interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral partnerships. Applying and testing these methods in community co-design programmes and with partner groups.

SMASHConsult – consulting with, and training, organisations seeking to develop and enhance their public engagement, outreach and community policy and programmes through storytelling, co-design, co-production and Equality Diversity and Inclusion focus.

Our most recent EVENT was ‘Space Plague’ in Deptford from 17th to 21st of February 2020, at the Deptford Lounge.
